CAPTURE this!

My last blog post spoke about the core offerings of content services. Chocolate Muffins are in my Stomach, or Capture, Manage, Access, Integrate, Measure, and Store. Now we are going to take a more focused dive into each step, starting with Capture.   Capture – Content Services can capture documents or data several different ways to reduce the burden of the dreaded manual indexing.  Trust me it’s terrible. There are numerous ways to bring a document into a Content Services Application, ranging from monitoring a network folder and sweeping documents in, to importing a CSV file with the index values already populated directly from a different application, even importing directly from your email.  But where capture really shines, is reducing the amount of work you have to do to get the document indexed. This can be accomplished from manually indexing (I know I just said “it’s horrible”) one primary value and performing a database lookup to retrieve the rest of the information for that document.  Taking it a step further, barcode recognition allows us to separate documents and index at the same time by reading a barcode on a document and placing the values into respective fields! We can also perform a full-text OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on the document, automatically populating the index fields to allow you to enjoy your morning coffee without having to touch your keyboard. If you’re interested in learning more about “CAPTURE,” please drop us a note and one of our Consultants will reach out to you!   RELATED POSTS:
