On June 23, 2019, the USPS®  started using dimensional weight instead of actual weight to calculate the price of packages for Priority Mail® and Parcel Select. 

What is dimensional weight, you ask? 
According to the USPS,  “Dimensional Weight refers to how much space a package takes up in a truck or an airplane during shipping.
